Bentley has officially entered the electric era with the unveiling of the all-new Torcal, the luxury automaker’s first fully electric production model. The five-seat SUV becomes the brand’s fourth model line, joining the Continental GT, Flying Spur and Bentayga.
Built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture shared with the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Electric, the Torcal combines Bentley’s traditional luxury craftsmanship with a completely new electric powertrain. The model also introduces a fresh design language, advanced chassis technology and an extensively digital cabin.
Bentley Torcal Electric SUV Launch Timeline
The Bentley Torcal Electric SUV Launch is scheduled to begin in international markets in early 2027, while India and Australia are expected to receive the new electric luxury SUV around the middle to later part of 2027.
The Torcal is expected to become the most accessible model in Bentley’s current lineup, with its international starting price expected to remain below £170,000. However, the India-specific price will be considerably higher once import duties and other market-specific costs are taken into account.
The new model is designed to attract customers who want Bentley-level luxury while also looking for a fully electric powertrain.

New Bentley Torcal Design Brings a Fresh Identity
The Torcal features a low and sleek SUV silhouette while retaining several recognizable Bentley design cues. One of the biggest visual changes is the redesigned illuminated diamond-pattern grille, accompanied by the brand’s updated emblem.
The overall body design is more aerodynamic than traditional Bentley SUVs, helping the Torcal combine its large proportions with the efficiency requirements of an electric vehicle.
The SUV also gets a range of premium exterior detailing designed to distinguish it from the Bentayga. Its proportions and lower roofline give it a more performance-oriented appearance.
Bentley Torcal Gets Up to 888hp
The new electric SUV will be available with two dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations. The standard Torcal Core develops around 821hp, while the higher-performance Torcal S and First Edition produce up to 888hp and 1,350Nm of torque.
Despite weighing around 2.7 tonnes, the performance-focused version can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in approximately 2.8 to 2.9 seconds.
This makes the Torcal one of the quickest production models in Bentley’s history, while its electric drivetrain delivers instant torque and smooth power delivery.

113kWh Battery Offers Up to 600km Range
The Torcal uses an 800V electrical architecture combined with a 113kWh battery pack. According to the WLTP cycle, the electric SUV can travel up to around 600km on a full charge.
Charging performance is another major highlight. The system supports DC charging speeds of up to 400kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 16 minutes under suitable charging conditions.
Bentley says a short seven-minute charging session can add roughly 160km of driving range, making the Torcal suitable for long-distance grand touring.
Advanced Suspension Eliminates Traditional Anti-Roll Bars
The Torcal gets Bentley’s most technologically advanced chassis setup to date. Instead of conventional mechanical anti-roll bars, the electric SUV uses fully active suspension technology.
Adaptive two-valve dampers can independently adjust the suspension to control body movements while maintaining a comfortable ride. This allows Bentley to balance high-speed stability with the smooth ride expected from a luxury vehicle.
Rear-wheel steering is also standard, with the rear wheels able to turn by up to five degrees. This reduces the turning circle to around 11.1 metres and improves manoeuvrability in tighter spaces.
High-Tech ADAS and Intelligent Parking
The electric Bentley also comes equipped with an advanced driver assistance system supported by an extensive array of radars, sensors and cameras.
The system supports functions such as automated reversing, towing assistance and learned parking manoeuvres. Bentley has designed these technologies to make the large luxury SUV easier to operate in both urban and highway environments.
A Bentley Cabin With Sustainable Materials
The interior combines digital technology with traditional physical controls and handcrafted materials. The cabin can be configured with sustainable olive-tan leather in multiple shades, while a frosted diamond-pattern panoramic roof uses switchable smart glass technology.
Physical knurled control dials remain part of the cabin, maintaining the tactile character associated with Bentley interiors.
One of the most unusual material innovations is the use of 100 percent Merino wool for interior lining, giving the cabin another sustainable material option without abandoning the brand’s luxury-focused approach.
Dynamic Symphony Creates a Unique EV Sound
Rather than simply reproducing an artificial engine note, Bentley has created a dedicated electric propulsion soundtrack called “Dynamic Symphony”.
The sound was developed with live musicians and incorporates instruments such as bass guitars, violas and drums. Its rhythm is inspired by the character of Bentley’s historic 6¾-litre V8.
This approach gives the Torcal a distinctive acoustic identity while acknowledging that its propulsion system is entirely electric.
All-New Electric Bentley Torcal Breaks Cover With New Technology
The All New Electric Bentley Torcal Breaks Cover Review story is significant because this is not simply an electric version of an existing Bentley. It introduces a dedicated electric model line with a new platform, new chassis technology and a different approach to luxury design.
The combination of 800V charging, a large battery, active suspension, rear-wheel steering and extremely high power output shows how Bentley is adapting its grand-touring philosophy to the EV era.
Bentley Torcal Price and Positioning
The All New Electric Bentley Torcal Breaks Cover Price is expected to start below £170,000 in international markets, making it comparatively more accessible within Bentley’s range.
The India price has not been officially announced yet. Its positioning will place it in the ultra-luxury electric SUV space, where it will encounter vehicles such as the Porsche Cayenne Electric and other high-performance premium EVs.
The Torcal will also sit alongside the existing Bentayga rather than simply replacing it, giving Bentley customers a choice between conventional powertrain options and a fully electric luxury SUV.
Market Positioning
The Bentley Torcal Luxury Electric Car represents a major change in Bentley’s product strategy. Its focus is not only on electric performance but also on maintaining the craftsmanship, personalization and comfort expected from the Bentley name.
Its combination of nearly 900hp, a 600km WLTP target, ultra-fast charging and advanced suspension technology gives it a distinct identity within the luxury EV segment.
AutoXRoom Verdict
The Bentley Torcal marks Bentley’s first major step into the production EV market and combines impressive performance with an unmistakably luxury-focused cabin.
With up to 888hp, 1,350Nm, an 800V architecture, 400kW charging and sophisticated active suspension, the Torcal is designed to deliver both high performance and long-distance comfort.
The international launch is expected in 2027, followed by India around mid-to-late 2027. More details about India-specific pricing, variants and equipment are expected closer to its arrival.
