Mahindra has secured a design patent for the front grille of its upcoming Scorpio Lifestyler pick-up, revealing another important detail of the production-ready model. The patented design closely matches the grille shown when Mahindra unveiled the production-spec pick-up in August 2026.
The new pick-up is based on the Scorpio family and is scheduled to arrive in India in 2027. Mahindra has already indicated that design elements from the Lifestyler will influence future Scorpio-family products, making the latest patent particularly relevant for the upcoming Scorpio N update.
Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Gets a New Grille Design
The patented grille gives the Mahindra Scorpio New Model a distinctive front-end identity. It features multiple horizontal slats, with smaller ribs and rectangular elements positioned between the main bars.
A prominent central panel carries the Mahindra Twin Peaks logo. The production version shown earlier featured a gloss-black grille with contrasting orange elements, creating a more rugged appearance.
The design is considerably different from the vertical grille treatment seen on the current Scorpio N, suggesting that Mahindra is gradually developing a new visual direction for the Scorpio family.

Front Camera Provision Seen in Patent
Another interesting detail visible in the patent is a circular provision below the central grille panel. This is understood to be a possible mounting point for a front-facing camera.
A front camera could be used as part of a 360-degree camera system or other driver-assistance technology. However, the patent itself does not confirm the exact function of this opening or the final equipment specification.
Scorpio N Could Adopt Similar Styling
The patent becomes more significant because Mahindra’s design leadership has indicated that future Scorpio-family vehicles will receive design cues inspired by the Lifestyler.
A Scorpio N test vehicle has already been spotted with a larger grille resembling the pick-up’s design. Spy images also showed changes around the lower bumper, including more squared detailing and a revised lower air-dam treatment.
This means the Mahindra Scorpio N New Model could eventually adopt a more aggressive front fascia inspired by the Lifestyler.
However, the exact production design of the next Scorpio N should not be considered confirmed until Mahindra officially reveals the vehicle.

Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Pick-Up Design
The Scorpio Lifestyler is the production version of Mahindra’s Global Pik Up project and will be sold in India under the Scorpio family name. It gets a dual-cab body style with a large rear load bed.
The production-ready model features new headlamps, inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, a gloss-black grille, vertically positioned fog lamps and orange detailing. Chunky wheel arches, side cladding and large dual-tone wheels further distinguish the pick-up from the Scorpio N SUV.
At the rear, the pick-up gets squared LED tail lamps, a tailgate-mounted stop lamp and a bumper with an integrated step.
Scorpio Lifestyler Interior and Features
Mahindra has also previewed the interior design of the new pick-up. The cabin features a vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster and a new three-spoke steering wheel.
A brown-and-black interior theme and dual-zone climate control are also part of the showcased specification.
The final India-spec feature list and technical specifications are yet to be fully announced.
Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Engine and 4WD
Mahindra has not yet released the complete official powertrain specification for the Scorpio Lifestyler. Earlier reports have suggested that the pick-up could share petrol and diesel technology with the Scorpio N, including the 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines.
The diesel version is also expected to be offered with four-wheel drive, although the final engine, gearbox and drivetrain combinations will need to be confirmed by Mahindra.
This makes the Mahindra Scorpio 4×4 connection particularly relevant for buyers interested in the upcoming pick-up.
Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Price and Launch
Mahindra has indicated that the entry-level Scorpio Lifestyler will be priced below ₹19.79 lakh ex-showroom. The company plans to announce detailed pricing closer to the launch.
The pick-up is scheduled to launch in India in 2027, with April 2027 reported as the planned launch period. It will compete with lifestyle pick-ups such as the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross.
The final Mahindra Scorpio Price will therefore depend on the number of variants, powertrain choices and equipment offered at launch.
What This Means for the Scorpio N
The Lifestyler’s grille could become one of the most recognizable design elements of the next phase of the Scorpio family.
The current Scorpio N has already received updates during 2026, including new equipment such as a panoramic sunroof, larger screens, a 540-degree camera system and revised alloy wheels.
The newly surfaced patent, however, points toward a separate future design direction. If Mahindra carries the Lifestyler’s front-end theme into the next major Scorpio N update, the SUV could receive a substantially different grille and bumper design.
Mahindra Scorpio N Price and Existing Line-up
The current Mahindra Scorpio N Price starts from around ₹13.69 lakh, while the model continues to be available with petrol and diesel powertrains and multiple seating and drivetrain configurations.
The Scorpio Classic also continues as a separate model in Mahindra’s portfolio, giving the company multiple products under the broader Scorpio nameplate.
Search terms such as Mahindra Scorpio S11, Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Mahindra Scorpio N On Road Price therefore continue to refer to different versions of the Scorpio family rather than the upcoming Lifestyler pick-up.
Market Positioning
The Scorpio Lifestyler represents a major expansion of the Scorpio nameplate into the lifestyle pick-up segment. Its patented grille gives a clearer picture of the production design, while Mahindra’s statements and Scorpio N test vehicles indicate that some of these styling elements could influence future Scorpio-family models.
For now, the grille patent confirms the Lifestyler design, while the connection with the next Scorpio N remains an expected future development rather than a complete production specification.
AutoXRoom Verdict
The latest design patent gives the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler a clearer identity ahead of its 2027 India launch. The horizontal grille, central Mahindra logo, black finish and orange detailing create a design direction that is noticeably different from the current Scorpio N.
The more interesting development could be its influence on the broader Scorpio family. With Lifestyler-inspired Scorpio N prototypes already spotted, Mahindra appears to be exploring a common design language across its upcoming Scorpio products.
