BMW has opened pre-bookings in India for its special 100 Jahre Nürburgring Editions, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Germany’s legendary Nürburgring circuit in 2027. The limited-run collection brings together five BMW M cars, including the BMW M5 Touring, which is making its India debut with this special edition.
The India-bound lineup includes the BMW M2 xDrive, BMW M3 Competition xDrive, BMW M4 Competition xDrive, BMW M5 Sedan and BMW M5 Touring. BMW Motorrad India is also offering the M 1000 R as part of the anniversary celebration. The exact number of cars allocated to India has not been disclosed.
BMW 100 Jahre Nürburgring Edition Pre-Bookings Open
BMW India has started accepting pre-orders for the anniversary editions through its authorised dealerships. The special models are being introduced to mark the upcoming centenary of the Nürburgring, which officially opened in 1927.
BMW M has a long association with the circuit, using the challenging Nordschleife for development and testing of its high-performance vehicles. BMW says its production M cars are put through extensive testing at the track before reaching customers.

Nürburgring Green Gives the Cars a Distinctive Look
The biggest visual highlight of the anniversary editions is the exclusive Nürburgring Green exterior finish. Customers can also choose Sapphire Black metallic with green accents, depending on the model.
The cars feature anniversary-specific graphics inspired by the circuit, including the “100 Years” logo, “Nürburgring since 1927” wording and a silhouette of the famous track.
Black wheels with green detailing further distinguish the special editions from the regular BMW M range.
Special Interior With Motorsport-Inspired Details
The anniversary treatment continues inside the cabin. The cars receive predominantly black interiors with contrasting green and white stitching.
Edition-specific door sills, Nürburgring-themed headrest embroidery and commemorative details on the centre console further separate these models from their standard counterparts.
The inline-six-cylinder models, including the M2, M3 and M4, receive an M Alcantara steering wheel with a 12-o’clock marker. M Carbon bucket seats and carbon-fibre trim are also part of the special-edition package.

BMW M5 Touring Makes Its India Debut
The biggest highlight of the India launch is the BMW M5 Touring. This is the first time BMW is bringing the high-performance estate body style to the Indian market.
The M5 Touring combines the performance of the M5 with the additional practicality of a wagon-style body. It uses BMW’s M HYBRID powertrain, combining a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor.
The system produces around 727hp and 1,000Nm, with power sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. BMW claims a 0–100kmph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds.
M5 Touring Combines Performance With Practicality
Unlike a conventional performance sedan, the M5 Touring offers a larger and more versatile rear cargo area while retaining the performance-oriented character of the M5.
For the 100 Jahre Nürburgring Edition, BMW has used a steel roof featuring an exclusive anniversary stripe design rather than the carbon-fibre roof used on some other M models.
This combination of a practical estate body and a high-performance hybrid powertrain makes the M5 Touring one of the most distinctive models in the India-bound collection.
BMW M3 Competition xDrive Joins the Collection
The BMW M3 Competition xDrive is another important addition to the Indian lineup. The four-door performance sedan uses a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six engine producing around 530hp and 650Nm.
Power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox, while BMW claims a 0–100kmph time of 3.5 seconds.
The Nürburgring Edition adds special graphics, an M Carbon roof and green-accented wheels. BMW M Ignite technology is also included on the inline-six-cylinder special editions.
BMW M2 xDrive Gets All-Wheel Drive
The BMW M2 xDrive represents the compact end of the anniversary collection.
It uses a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six engine producing around 480hp and 600Nm, with power transferred to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
BMW claims the M2 xDrive can accelerate from 0–100kmph in approximately 3.7 seconds. The special edition also receives an M Carbon roof, M Carbon bucket seats and Nürburgring-specific exterior details.
BMW M4 Competition xDrive Gets Anniversary Treatment
The BMW M4 Competition xDrive is also part of the 100 Jahre Nürburgring lineup.
Along with the special green or black exterior finishes, the coupe receives Nürburgring graphics, BMW M stripes, green detailing and an M Carbon roof.
Inside, the anniversary-themed materials and contrasting stitching create a more distinctive cabin compared with the standard M4.
BMW M5 Sedan Continues With M HYBRID Power
The BMW M5 Sedan also gets the Nürburgring anniversary treatment. Its M HYBRID powertrain combines a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor.
The system produces approximately 727hp and 1,000Nm, while the car uses an eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive.
The M5 Sedan edition gets anniversary-specific exterior graphics, green wheel accents and Nürburgring-inspired interior details.
BMW M 1000 R Also Comes to India
BMW Motorrad India is joining the celebration with the BMW M 1000 R 100 Jahre Nürburgring Edition.
The motorcycle receives a Nürburgring-themed fuel tank, anniversary graphics, carbon wheels with green accent stripes and an Alcantara-look seat featuring a “100” embroidery.
The global BMW Motorrad anniversary lineup also includes the M 1000 RR and M 1000 XR, although India’s confirmed collection includes the M 1000 R.
Why the Nürburgring Is Important to BMW M
The Nürburgring is more than just the inspiration behind the special-edition graphics. BMW uses the circuit as a development environment for its performance vehicles.
The Nordschleife stretches approximately 20.8km and features significant elevation changes and numerous corners, creating demanding conditions for testing suspension, brakes, powertrains, aerodynamics and thermal management.
BMW says the relationship between the company and the Nürburgring dates back to the circuit’s early years, with the track becoming an important part of the development philosophy behind BMW M vehicles.

Market Positioning
The BMW 100 Jahre Nürburgring Editions combine BMW M’s high-performance technology with a commemorative design package celebrating one of the world’s best-known racing circuits.

AutoXRoom Verdict
The BMW 100 Jahre Nürburgring Editions bring a distinctive motorsport-inspired identity to BMW’s M portfolio in India. The exclusive Nürburgring Green finish, anniversary graphics, special interiors and performance-focused equipment make these models different from their regular counterparts.
The biggest India highlight is undoubtedly the BMW M5 Touring, which combines 727hp hybrid performance with the practicality of an estate body and arrives in India for the first time.
With pre-bookings now open and production numbers yet to be disclosed, more information on pricing, allocations and deliveries should follow from BMW India.
